Cornelia Herrmann to be guest pianist with Symphony
Stefan Sanderling conducts the Toledo Symphony, with guest pianist Cornelia Herrmann, in concerts at 8 p.m. Feb. 6 and 7 in the Peristyle of the Toledo Museum of Art.
The Classics Series program comprises Mozart's overture to The Marriage of Figaro and the Piano Concerto No. 9 in E-flat Major and Schumann's Symphony No. 2 in C Major.

The Bowling Green Philharmonia, conducted by Emily Freeman Brown, will honor the winners of Bowling Green State University's 42nd annual competitions in music performance with a concert at 8 p.m. Feb. 7 in Kobacker Hall of BGSU's Moore Musical Arts Center.
Featured will be student soloists James Fusik, Stephen Klunk, Alexander Moraru, and Andrew Park.

•Doctoral students in the college of musical arts will present a free DMA Showcase at 8 p.m. Feb. 5.
•New Music Week concludes with a free program featuring works by composition students at 8 p.m. Feb. 6.
•Composer Alice Parker will lead an open choral session for directors and singers at 7 p.m. Feb. 11.
Tenor Lawrence Brownlee will present a recital at 8 p.m. Feb. 7 in the University of Michigan's Hill Auditorium, 825 North University Ave., Ann Arbor.
Accompanied by Martin Katz, Brownlee, winner of the Richard Tucker and Marian Anderson awards, will present works by Mozart, Donizetti, Rossini, and others.

The Detroit Symphony, with conductor James Conlon, will present a program of works by Felix Mendelssohn and Gustav Mahler Feb. 6-8 in Orchestra Hall of the Max M. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Ave., Detroit. Mezzo soprano Christine Jepson and tenor John Treleaven will perform in Mahler's "Das Lied von der Erde."
